A set of bills before the New Jersey legislature, S941, A1847, S2173, A2397, and A3818, mandate the meningitis vaccine for college students, the HPV vaccine for sixth through twelfth graders, make it harder for parents to obtain a religious exemption to vaccination, and allows the Commissioner of Health to adopt rules of mandatory vaccination of healthcare vendors.
Parents have a right to make their own decisions about treatments for their children based on informed consent. Limiting a patient's ability to make informed decisions about what gets put into his or her body violates medical ethics.
The bill to restrict the religious exemption recently passed an Assembly committee and is on its way to a full Assembly vote. We must stop it now before it gets further in the legislative process.
Write to your legislators and tell them to oppose S941, A1847, S2173, A2397, and A3818.
