The Florida legislature is considering a bill, S 1558/HB 1343, that adds HPV to the list of vaccines required for school. Patients should have a right to decide what to do with their bodies, especially since adverse reactions to vaccinations are not uncommon. Adverse reactions to the HPV vaccine are even more common. Considering that there are other, arguably more efficacious ways to prevent cervical cancer such as regular screenings, parents should be able to choose whether HPV vaccination is right for their family.
